Twinkle Toes
Mary Lou Lunt
Twinkle toes is a rearing horse and, as you can see from the pictures, that caused a problem. At ten feet tall some ceiling tiles had to be removed to stand Twinkle Toes up. The horses were worked on during the winter and removing the tiles provided a route for the studio heat to escape. Accordingly much of the work on this horse was done while it was laying down. After painting in the dancer's costume, a decorative border was attached and beading, glitter, jewels and a crown were added. The tutu was made from several layers of folded screening material and many decorative beads were attached to it. |
